Yi-Hwa Liou is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Educational Management at the National Taipei University of Education. She earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Her research centers on leadership, learning, and change in complex educational ecosystems, with particular attention to educational leadership, organizational change and learning, professional and networked learning, and system-level reform. Her work examines the reciprocal dynamics among leadership, organizational conditions, professional relationships, and network structures across levels of educational systems, and how these dynamics relate to collective capacity, equity, and system change. Drawing on social network theory and analysis, multimethod and longitudinal research, and systems approaches, she works extensively across international contexts and is committed to establishing and sustaining reciprocal research-practice partnerships informed by network science to support organizational learning, strategic development, and evidence-informed decision making.
